Dona Paula is a relatively new winery that was founded by the Clara group of companies that have had extensive experience in Chilean wineries such as Santa Rita, Carmen, Sur Andino and Los Vascos. In 1997 they acquired 760 hectares of vines in Luyan de Cuyo and the Tupungato areas of Mendoza and built a new state of the art winery.
The release of their first vintage in 1999 proves that they have successfully transferred the modern wine making techniques and years of experience of producing quality wine in Chile to the perfect terroir of Argentina.
The wine makers are Stefano Gandolini and Matias Michelini. Previously they have both worked in regions such as Tuscany, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Napa and Santa Rita in Chile.
Dona Paula produce the following wines at three levels the Los Cardos range of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Dona Paula Estate range, Malbec and Chardonnay and finally their icon wine the Seleccion de bodega Malbec
